Have you ever thought about taking part in classes? Are you a regular class user? Do you just want to know a little more about our classes? Well, you've come to the right place. This time, we will be talking about our Indoor Cycling classes, you may know it as spin.
What is indoor cycling?
Often called spinning, indoor cycling consists of using a special stationary exercise bike with a weighted flywheel and focusses on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery.
Benefits of doing an indoor cycling class?
Burns more calories- indoor cycling can burn more calories compared to other low impact exercises, burning approximately 200-300 calories in a 30 minute spin class.
Low impact- As you are stationary on the bike, you are not putting too much strain on your joints like you would do with running/HIIT sessions etc.
Tones leg muscles- Indoor cycling classes are constantly changing resistance, helping you tone up your leg muscles whilst increasing your cardiovascular endurance.
Helps correct posture- You'll notice yourself keeping your core muscles contracted, gradually strengthening them and in-turn stopping you from slouching, relieving back pain.
Indoor cycling, as the name would suggest, is also indoors, allowing you to enjoy all year round, keen cyclists will understand this as come winter months, they are forced to hang up their cleats, indoor cycling allows these cyclists to carry on enjoying the thrills of cycling, whilst being safe.
