Why Protein is important for gaining and maintaining muscle.

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

Protein is the key to building muscle, protein is made up of 20 amino acids, amino acids are the building blocks of protein as they help to repair and maintain muscle. It is important to have protein after a workout, as your muscles will tear slightly during your session, having around 20g-30g of protein after a workout will help aid muscle recovery.

Sources of protein can be either found within your diet e.g chicken lean beef, or if you are struggling you can use protein shakes. It is really important that you try and get your protein through food rather than supplements, but if you do find it hard to get it in, protein shakes are a great substitute.
