Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a strong flowing practice which links asana, yoga postures, with the breath. This style of yoga has a series of set asana sequences. After warming the body, the practice flows through the sequence holding each posture for five breaths. This class is based on the primary series.
The practice of classical yoga postures improves strength, flexibility and co-ordination. The combination of breath and moving through the postures helps to clear and focus the mind.
The class is quite strong and dynamic, but it is suitable for beginners. It is not suitable during pregnancy or if yoga has been recommended as therapy for a very bad back etc...
